Frequently Asked Questions

Japan visa files in the UAE are normally document-driven—you submit your pack at VFS and the Consulate reviews it. The mission may request additional documents or an interview at its discretion; we monitor your case and respond promptly if asked.

Note: Japan conducts fingerprint/face capture on arrival for most foreign nationals (a border procedure, not part of your VFS submission). We’ll brief you on entry formalities as part of your travel pack.

No—Dubai’s VFS accepts Japan visa applications only from valid UAE residents under its jurisdiction. If you’re visiting the UAE, you’ll usually need to apply where you legally reside, or wherever the relevant Japan mission/centre accepts your case. We’ll advise the fastest compliant route.

If you become a UAE resident later, we can take over immediately: build your file, book VFS, submit with authorization, and manage courier return.

The Consulate’s “General Points” outline extra proofs for sponsored travelers and special statuses (e.g., sponsor’s employment/trade-license evidence, bank statements). We’ll map your profile to those notes and include the right supporting letters so the officer sees a coherent story.

For business travel, add the inviting company’s papers (invitation, overview of company) in the formats VFS provides; we’ll coordinate directly with your host to ensure they match the Consulate’s templates.

You can request it, but issuance (and stay/validity) is entirely at the Consulate’s discretion—they may grant single-entry even if you ask for multiple. We’ll present strong travel history and purpose to support what you’re requesting, then align bookings accordingly.

If you’re planning several trips within a short period, tell us at intake—we’ll structure your cover letter, schedule of stay, and proofs to reflect that plan realistically.

You can apply only within 90 days of your intended entry. We schedule your VFS slot at the earliest suitable date and structure the file to avoid request-for-more-info delays.

Processing times vary by mission and season. As a guide, 8–10 working days after submission is common in the UAE, but cases can stretch to 3–4 weeks if checks are needed—plan accordingly. We keep you updated until your passport is ready.

Expect the application form, passport, UAE residence visa & Emirates ID copies, flight plan, hotel booking, schedule of stay, and recent bank statements, plus employer certificate/NOC. We’ll index and label each item exactly as the Dubai checklist specifies so your file is first-time right.

Japan missions are strict about formats and completeness. Submitting incomplete/incorrect papers can lead to immediate return of the file; our team pre-checks everything so you only visit VFS once.

We act as your project manager: document checklist, forms, schedule-of-stay, flight/hotel alignment, appointment booking, and authorized submission/collection at VFS. You’ll get proactive updates until your passport is back.
Visit us at 408 Nasser Lootah Building, Bur Dubai or Office 301A, API Tower, Trade Center. Prefer not to travel? Ask for our free pick-up & drop in nearby Dubai areas (simple courier for farther locations). We’ll start the same day you share your scans.

If your passport is visa-exempt under Japan’s short-stay list, you won’t need a visa for brief visits. Most UAE residents, however, are visa-required and apply in Dubai/Abu Dhabi via VFS Global. For Dubai, applications are accepted within 90 days of travel and you must be a valid UAE resident to lodge here.

In the UAE, tourist cases are filed at VFS; the Consulate may issue either a physical sticker or an electronic eVISA (single-entry tourism) where you show a “visa issuance notice” on your phone at check-in. We’ll route you to the correct path and handle the steps end-to-end.

Applications go through VFS Global – Japan Visa Application Centre, WAFI Mall (Dubai); Abu Dhabi applicants use the VFS centre there. Since Aug 1, 2024, the Consulate directs all public applications to VFS (diplomatic/official excepted).

You’ll book an appointment and submit physically—either in person or via an authorized representative. We can submit/collect on your behalf with the proper authorization, prepare your pack, and track it to passport return.

Japan’s all-online MOFA eVISA is limited to people residing in specific countries/regions (e.g., U.S., U.K., Canada, Saudi Arabia, etc.). If you reside in the UAE, you’ll still apply via VFS—but the Consulate may issue an eVISA for single-entry tourism, meaning you present a digital issuance notice at the airport instead of a sticker.

We’ll confirm eligibility at intake and prepare you for whichever issuance format applies to your case so check-in and immigration are seamless.
